Robbie Fowler For City?

The 30-year-old, capped 26 times by England, is out of favour with Stuart Pearce after coming back from injury, and has made just two substitute appearances this season.

City are rumoured to be making a loan move for the player, paying part of his reported £35,000-a-week wages. He's out of contract at the end of the season.

Fowler played in Peter Taylor's match as England manager in November 2000, and was also at Liverpool and Leeds United during Nick Barmby's spells there.

Taylor is looking to add a forward to his squad now the transfer window is open, and is under more pressure to do so after Craig Fagan suffered an injury in yesterday's game. That leaves Billy Paynter as the only fit out-and-out striker at the club, with Fagan a "big doubt" for Tuesday's game against Sheffield United with ankle ligament damage.
