Peter Taylor was in attendance at Glanford Park to see Kevin Ellison give City a 21st minute lead.

Scunthorpe were level on the hour mark after Curtis Woodhouse gave away a penalty, converted by Peter Beagrie.

Two minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty at the other end. Jason Price was brought down in the box, and Ben Burgess slotted the penalty away to the keeper's right.

Michael Rankine levelled things again in the 78th minute, but parity was soon lost as City finished the scoring at 3-2. Youth team player Will Atkinson saw a shot saved, but Ben Burgess got the rebound to score the winner.
