Reserves Draw In Opener

Following last week's postponed fixture at Rotherham, the reserves got their season underway at Church Road this afternoon. They didn't get off to the best start though when Joel Porter put the visitors in front within 10 minutes.

However, Delroy Facey got an undeserved leveller in the 22nd minute, and Clayton Donaldson then made it 2-1 to City 11 minutes before half time.

But Hartlepool battled back to earn a draw with Andy Appleby settling it at 2-2 in the 63rd minute.

City reserves go in search of their first win of the new campaign at Tranmere next week.
