The Welsh Under-21 has failed to make an impact since his move from Everton just over a year ago. He made three appearances for City in the league earlier this season during Jan Molby's reign as manager, but has failed to be selected by Peter Taylor.
A recent loan spell at Barnet saw the 20-year-old play four games in the Conference, but since returning he has been told he is surplus to requirements, and so has had his contract paid off.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Saul Deeney has extended his loan deal by another month.
