Normally, 5 yellow cards would result in a one-match ban. However, FA rules state that this is only the case until the end of February. A fifth booking after this date will only result in a warning.

If any player goes on to pick up a total of 10 yellow cards by the second Sunday of April, they still get a 2-match ban. However, City only play 6 more games before this date so it would only apply to a few players and they would have to be booked in each of those games.

Stuart Elliott and Craig Fagan both have 4 yellow cards to their names, so avoided a one-match ban by not getting in the referee's notebook on Saturday. Jon Parkin is also on 4 for the season, though only 1 of those was since joining City, while Billy Paynter has got 2 each at City and Port Vale. Yellow cards at former clubs still count towards suspensions.

Ryan France has the most cautions to his name this season. He got his fifth against Norwich, and had to serve a suspension seven days later when City went to Cardiff.

In the unlikely event that anyone goes on to get 15 yellow cards, they will still have to serve the standard three-game ban. Suspensions for red cards also still apply as normal.
