The Tigers had registered only seven goals in nine league matches prior to the 2-1 weekend win over Cardiff and now have nine from 10, which is still one of the lowest returns in the league.

Pearson told the club's official website: "Regardless of what people may think, there hasn't been an anxiety about scoring goals and, on Saturday, we always looked very positive.

"I was pleased with how we finished the game in terms of we were still looking to score goals.

"When we needed to defend, we did so with conviction and commitment. All in all it was a very good day."

Pearson's side extended their unbeaten league run to six matches and climbed into the top six thanks to goals from Matty Fryatt and Nick Barmby against Cardiff.
