Pearson remains in upbeat mood

The Tigers created a host of openings but failed to convert them and went down to a late goal from Seasiders striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

Pearson said: "It was a game that we shouldn't have lost and the worst case scenario should have been a draw.

"The fact that we created so many chances in the game makes losing even more disappointing. It wasn't the start that we wanted, but I'm certainly not going to get downbeat about it.

"But it's not right for me to always be talking about the number of chances, we have to take them and we will. We could sense that the fans arrived in buoyant mood and unfortunately we weren't able to deliver."
