Parkinson Matter Resolved

Last updated : 01 July 2006 By Andy Beill
Tigers chairman Adam Pearson knew that Parkinson was the man that he wanted, even before Peter Taylor's move to Crystal Palace had gone through. It's taken weeks for Colchester to agree to release their manager, and it has cost City in excess of the £300,000 compensation received for Taylor.

Frank Barlow, brought in from Nottingham Forest, will be Parkinson's assistant. Mark Prudhoe (goalkeeping coach) and Simon Maltby (physio) will keep their jobs working with the first team. Colin Murphy, previously Taylor's assistant, will become Development Director to work on facilities for the youth team. First team coach Steve Butler is leaving the club, while chief scout Alan Gemmill is following Taylor to Selhurst Park.

Parkinson is unveiled at a press conference at 2pm tomorrow at the KC Stadium.
