Park Avenue Defeat City

The home side went ahead when Painter headed past Glennon, but then Shaun Smith equalised with his first goal in City colours, scoring with a free kick.

City changed their entire team at half time again, this time with the Reserve side playing the second half.

Nicky Mohan - playing at centre-forward - put City in front with a long-range shot. This follows on from his headed goal at Lincoln United on Monday to make him our top scorer of pre-season so far.

But Bradford were on level terms when City keeper Paul Musselwhite let a Prendergast shot go past him and into the net, and then Avenue were back in the lead as Maxwell's cross-come-shot went over Musselwhite's head and into the goal.

City couldn't find another equaliser so had to come away with a 3-2 defeat in a disappointing match.

First half line-up (4-3-3): Glennon; Edwards, Anderson, Strong, Smith; Appleby, Philpott, Williams; Dudfield, Alexander, Elliott.
Second half line-up (4-3-3): Musselwhite; Bloomer, Whittle, Wicks, Burton; Petty, Greaves, Peat; Heard, Mohan, Holt.
