The 20-year-old has been on loan at the Abbey Stadium for the last two months. Now his spell is over, Cambridge have snapped up the centre forward on a free transfer. He's signed a contract until the end of next season.

The 6ft former Southampton trainee was a Peter Taylor favourite when he joined City in December 2002, having previously signed him while manager at Southend and Brighton. However, he's failed to score in 4 league starts and 12 substitute appearances, with his only Tigers goal being scored in the LDV Trophy defeat against Scunthorpe earlier this season.

He departs the KC Stadium on the same day that City pick up Junior Lewis on loan from Leicester.

Elsewhere, today's reserve game at Barnsley has been postponed until 5th April. Preston will come to Church Road next Wednesday in a re-arranged fixture.
