Newcastle 'Unimpressed' With Hull City's Jarrod Bowen Valuation

Newcastle are said to be unimpressed with Hull City's valuation of winger Jarrod Bowen and while they are unwilling to pay over the odds for the player, the Magpies are still hopeful of concluding a deal.

The 23-year-old has been a key player for the Tigers once again this season, playing the full 90 minutes in all of his side's opening 28 Championship matches. In this time, he has managed to find the net on 16 occasions, while he has also provided five assists.

As a result of his fine performances, he has been linked with a move away from the club. 90min learned from a source in December that Newcastle had added their names to the long list of suitors, which also includes Bournemouth.

The Telegraph are now reporting, however, that the Magpies are unimpressed with Hull's valuation of the player, which is in excess of £20m. Newcastle are unwilling to pay over the odds for Bowen, with the club recognising that the player's contract is set to expire in the summer, although Hull do have the option to extend that by a further year.

The Tigers are willing to sell their star man in January, while the player himself would also like to join Newcastle. And even though Steve Bruce is keen on the winger, negotiations have not progressed.

The Magpies are willing to pay around £12m up front for Bowen, with performance-related add-ons which would see the fee potentially rise over time. However, The Telegraph claim that Hull have not 'budged' in their valuation and, as a result, Newcastle 'may' decide to look elsewhere.

The club have brought in Nabil Bentaleb on loan from Schalke, with The Telegraph reporting that Newcastle are keen to see how he performs before committing to signing him on a permanent basis. Elsewhere, a source has told 90min that the Magpies are confident they can seal a loan move for Inter's Valentino Lazaro during the January window.
