Peter Taylor has been looking for a striker to replace the injured Ben Burgess, but has been unsuccessful in signing Sam Parkin, Lee Peacock, Steve MacLean, Iwan Roberts or Leon Constantine.

However, Aaron Wilbraham is discussing personal terms after a £100,000 transfer fee was agreed between City and his club Stockport County.

The 6'3" centre forward was a trainee at Edgeley Park after joining from Manchester City, and has scored 35 league goals since making his debut in 1998. He's clocked up 118 starts and 54 substitute appearances in that time, although he was never selected in the team during Burgess' spell with the club.

24-year-old Wilbraham also had a loan spell with Norwegian side Moss FK.
