The journeyman centre back was signed by City just over a year ago by Brian Little, for whom he had previously played under at Middlesbrough, Leicester and Stoke.

Little chose to play him alongside Justin Whittle in defence, forcing Ian Goodison out of position much to the fans' displeasure. Little persevered with his signing but eventually succumbed to supporter pressure and dropped him in November after the horror 4-0 defeat at Hartlepool.

Mohan made 30 appearances over the course of last season, but new manager Jan Molby decided to transfer list him after watching him in four games at the back end of the campaign.

With no takers, Mohan joined in with the pre-season preparations and scored twice in friendlies while being played as a makeshift centre forward, but it wasn't enough for Molby and his contract has been terminated with nearly a year still to run.

It is expected that he'll now move to non-league Gateshead.
