"It doesn't look good and neither does the forecast," the groundsman told the official Rochdale site. "We can't go and work on it until the rain stops and at the moment it looks like the rain is here for a while yet.
"Tomorrow's weather will be crucial and although the forecast is for heavy showers in the afternoon, the MET Office could be wrong, they have been before."
A pitch inspection will be held at midday tomorrow to confirm whether the game is on or off.
