Manager of the Month Decided

Andy Ritchie has been given the award after his Barnsley side went through the month unbeaten. They began the month by winning at Peterborough, before draws with Bristol City and Milton Keynes. The Tykes then had an enjoyable easter, with a surprise 3-1 win at league leaders Luton on Friday, before ending the month by beating Walsall on Monday.

Ritchie was chosen ahead of Hull City boss Peter Taylor, despite the Tigers winning four of their six games March. Picking up just 1 point from the two Easter games lost it for him. Ritchie and Taylor go head to head on Saturday in the Yorkshire derby at the KC Stadium.

Blackpool's Colin Hendry and Sheffield Wednesday's Colin Sturrock were also nominated as contenders.

Mick McCarthy (Sunderland) and Steve Tilson (Southend) won the awards in the Championship and League Two respectively.
