Livermore Set For Debut

Delaney suffered what could be a serious ankle injury in training yesterday, leaving City desperate for a centre back to partner Michael Turner.

City's only other natural centre backs, Sam Collins and Danny Coles, are also still struggling with injuries, whilst youngster Michael Byron isn't expected to be risked making his league debut just yet.

That leaves Phil Parkinson with Livermore, primarily a midfielder but has played many games at the back, and Alton Thelwell, a right-back who can play in the centre, to choose from. Livermore is expected to get the nod, but Thelwell must be in contention for a place on the bench as cover.

No changes are expected elsewhere in the team. Dean Marney should be fit despite going off injured in the defeat to Barnsley on Tuesday.

Loan signing Mark Yeates isn't fit enough to be included yet. Either Nick Barmby or Stuart Elliott could drop out of the squad to make space for Thelwell on the bench.

Expected line-up (4-4-2): Boaz Myhill; Sam Ricketts, Michael Turner, David Livermore, Andy Dawson; Craig Fagan, John Welsh, Dean Marney, Ryan France; Jon Parkin, Darryl Duffy.
Subs: Matt Duke, Alton Thelwell, Keith Andrews, Nick Barmby, Ben Burgess.
