Livermore Makes Shock Move

The 26-year-old had joined Leeds in a £400,000 deal on 22nd July, but they were then able to capture Kevin Nicholls from Luton and have their eye on another midfielder, putting the ex-Millwall skipper out of their plans.

Livermore is primarily a central midfielder, but can also play anywhere on the left and at centre back.

It could be in central defence that he makes his debut, with City currently low on numbers in that department. Michael Turner is the only fully fit centre back currently in the squad, while Damien Delaney (broken nose) and Sam Collins (thigh) may be fit in time for the league opener at West Brom on Saturday. Alton Thelwell, primarily a full back, filled in at that position in the friendly with Nancy, while first year pro Michael Byron isn't expected to be thrown in at the deep end. Danny Coles still faces at least another month on the sidelines.

When Livermore is able to play in his preferred position, it puts the selection of Keith Andrews, Ian Ashbee or John Welsh in doubt.
