Carlisle had few chances but made it count when they did get into attacking positions, keeping a 9th minute lead to take three points.

Little said: "It's hard to describe what's happening at the minute as we're getting into as many good positions as we have been all season. But the bottom line is that we haven't scored from those situations.
"Carlisle have had maybe two or three chances and taken one of them and to be honest the goal was hopeless from our point of view."

Despite being seven games without a win, Little is upbeat in the way the side are doing. However, City supporters are starting to lose patience with a team who haven't scored a goal in nearly 8 hours of football.

"In terms of the way we're playing we're not doing that much wrong but people now are getting a bit frustrated and anxious.
"Aside from one piece of bad defending the team I picked did well and they're just lacking a bit of belief."

Little thinks that the fans have a part to play in inspiring the team, but many of the 8,526 crowd booed off the side after another bad result.

He said: "Some of the supporters are getting a bit chewy with me and I understand that as long as it's put across sensibly.
"I don't really want to be subjected to bad language and the frustration was bordering on going a little too far."

He added that he doesn't envisage changing the line-up too much for when Exeter come to Boothferry Park on Saturday.
