The 29-year-old, who Peter Taylor signed from Peterborough for £40,000 in November 2002, has been out of favour since City's promotion to the Championship. He's only played five league games this season despite being almost ever present for the previous three years, being vice-captain for two promotions. He played 95 times in all competitions, scoring once.

He had a loan spell at Bristol City this season, playing three times, but now joins their League One rivals Blackpool.

The move is technically a loan deal in order for him to be a Seasiders player in time for their game with Oldham this evening, and he will then sign a 2½-year contract. No fee is said to be involved.
