It's Miller Time For Keane

The 22-year-old midfielder has joined the Millers on an initial one-month loan deal.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international - who has appeared in 25 games in all competitions since joining from Preston in a £50,000 move in the summer - has fallen out of favour with his manager Peter Taylor.

He had endeered himself to the Tigers fans with some enthusiastic performances earlier in the season and scoring five times, but Taylor hasn't played him since the defeat at Doncaster in January. As well as rumoured doubts over his fitness and attitude that forced him out of Preston, Keane hammered the final nail in his own coffin when he was sent off for headbutting a Sheffield United player in a Reserve game.

Keane says he doesn't want to leave, but Taylor said it simply didn't "work out" and that with Andy Hessenthaler here, Keane is surplus to requirements.

He will look to make a better impression with Rotherham, starting with their game at Burnley tomorrow. City are thought to be looking to offload the player permanently, before his contract runs out at the end of next season.
