Iron Gain Revenge

After only half an hour, the Iron were 2-0 up through goals from Andy Parton and Paul Wheatcroft, but City pulled one back soon later. Shaun Smith put in a free kick to the back post, where Matt Bloomer converted.

Wheatcroft got his second midway through the second half, and City were left to rue their missed chances. Gary Bradshaw did pull back a consolation goal in the closing stages from the penalty spot, but the home side took the points in a 3-2 win.
