Delaney missed the defeat at Huddersfield due to a knee injury, but played through it against Blackpool on Saturday. After undergoing keyhole surgery it looks like a cartilage problem, which will probably see him sidelined for two to three weeks. With Alton Thelwell getting back to full fitness, Peter Taylor has players able to fill in for the centre back.

Barmby meanwhile is expected to be out for at least a fortnight as well. He injured himself in a tackle early on against Blackpool before being substituted in the 28th minute. He twisted his ankle and also has a swollen knee. His absence could give Delroy Facey a chance to make an impression on the first team. He'll be involved in the reserve game against Wigan tomorrow, and if he looks fit enough he may get the nod to play at Peterborough on Saturday. Taylor has also hinted at a recall for Aaron Wilbraham up front.
