Hull v Blackpool preview

Last updated : 04 August 2011 By Team Talk

Hull will be without striker Aaron Mclean for their opening game of the season against Blackpool.

Mclean is struggling with a calf injury but manager Nigel Pearson hopes to include fellow forward Jay Simpson in his squad.

Simpson missed the final pre-season game against Chesterfield on Saturday due to a knock but returned to training on Wednesday and is expected to make the substitutes' bench, with summer signing Dele Adebola favourite to start alongside Matty Fryatt up front.

Defender Paul McShane (calf) and winger Cameron Stewart (knee) remain long-term absentees.

Hull's other summer signings, goalkeepers Peter Gulacsi and Adriano Basso, defender Jack Hobbs and midfielder Paul McKenna, all featured against Chesterfield and will be hoping to make their debuts.
