Hull City v Coventry City preview

Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard is expected to be back in contention.

Bullard missed the 4-0 midweek defeat at Burnley after complaining of back spasms, but is hoping to return to the starting line-up.

The Tigers are also boosted by the availability of Nolberto Solano and Richard Garcia, who also missed out on Tuesday due to a thigh strain and illness respectively.

Midfielder Will Atkinson and Nick Barmby were recalled to the side in midweek and manager Nigel Pearson must decide whether to retain them as Bullard, John Bostock and Craig Fagan provide further options.

Pearson's side, who had kept clean sheets in each of their three unbeaten games prior to the trip to Burnley, will be looking to climb into the top half of the table with a third home league win of the season.

Marlon King will undergo a late fitness test to determine whether he can play for the Sky Blues.

The striker made his first professional start in over a year as the Sky Blues saw off Doncaster 2-1 and sustained a dead leg just after the hour mark as he started to feel the pace.

If he does make it then he is guaranteed a hot reception at the KC Stadium on his first visit to an away ground since his return to the game. King was on loan with the Tigers in December 2008 when he was involved in the nightclub incident that saw him sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Elsewhere, Aidy Boothroyd revealed matchwinner Gary McSheffrey, fellow winger Danny Ward and Martin Cranie all took knocks against Rovers in midweek and will be assessed.

Midfielder David Bell (thigh) will also be looked at by Coventry's medical team.
