However he has been ruled out of playing in the Macclesfield game tomorrow.
Manager Brian Little said: "Ian is keen to get back into action as soon as possible but he has been out for quite a while and it could be a gamble bringing him straight back."
Rodney Rowe has also stepped up his fitness, and Assistant manager Dave Moore says it's a boost to have the pair back in the squad.
"That's been a bonus for us. Rodney Rowe also returns to training and Ian Goodison's trained this week.
"So Rodney and Ian wouldn't be in contention for anything on Friday night, but at least they're back in training and they're on the right road."
Meanwhile David Beresford should be in the squad tomorrow after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
