Justin Whittle - expected to join reserves after poor performance
Peter Taylor had planned to field a similar side that defeated Darlington in the first round of the LDV Trophy, but following Saturday's performance a number of first team players may miss out on a rest.

Steve Burton, Ryan Williams and Shaun Smith - who all started the match against Darlington last month - won't be involved as they are out on loan to other clubs.

Former Scunthorpe hero Jamie Forrester looks doubftul with an ankle injury, while captain Ian Ashbee serves out his suspension.

Alan Fettis is expected to start in goal. The Tigers number 1 will be making only his second appearance at the KC Stadium this season since injury and Paul Musselwhite's form has kept him out of the side.

Justin Whittle is tipped to play, partnering Greg Strong - who joined Scunthorpe on loan last season - in the centre of defence. Nathan Peat is likely to be in at left-back for his KC Stadium debut, with Carl Regan, Marc Joseph or Richard Hinds on the right.

Andy Holt and Ryan France are expected to provide the side's width, with Steve Melton and Dean Keates in the middle.

Up front, Daniel Webb - who has been in scoring form for the reserves recently - looks like being joined by Clayton Donaldson.

Youth team starlets Russell Fry, Danny Harvey, Simon Russell could make the squad.

Expected line-up (4-4-2): Fettis; Regan, Whittle, Strong, Peat; France, Melton, Keates, Holt; Webb, Donaldson.
