"Luton and Boston both made inquiries about whether we would consider loaning him out but nothing seems to have come of it. We've had a couple of inquiries about him but he's an important player for us," said Taylor.
Forrester scored 3 goals in 11 appearances last season after signing in January, but missed the season run-in due to injury. Since the signings of Ben Burgess and Danny Allsopp he has failed to re-establish himself in the first team. While the strike pair have scored 8 goals between them this season, Forrester has started just once and come off the bench four times, without finding the net once.
Taylor added: "It's been hard for him because he's not had much first-team action but he's a good player and a good professional.
"He has a lot of experience and it's hard for him to be on the bench but he's not had a problem about it for one second.
"After the inquiries were made I went to him and told him about the interest because it's only fair to tell the player. It's always upto the player if he wants to go, but I'm happy to have Jamie here."
If Forrester did go it would leave Taylor with youngsters Clayton Donaldson and Daniel Webb in reserve, along with wingers Stuart Elliott and Jason Price.
