Five and Back Alive

Jon Walters made his debut after joining on loan from Bolton, and opened his account with a stunning goal after just 20 minutes from the edge of the area.

Stuart Elliott doubled the lead around 5 minutes before half time, heading in Richie Appleby's cross.

And it was 3-0 by half time with Jamie Forrester scoring in his third successive game. Jon Walters set him free, and he left ex-Tigers' keeper Matt Glennon grasping thin air with the finish.

There was no holding back City after the interval either, and went 4-0 up just 3 minutes after the restart. Walters passed to Forrester whose shot was blocked by Glennon, but Elliott was on hand to tap home the rebound.

City closed their scoring midway through the second half. Marc Joseph cleared from a corner, and Walters raced away on the break and fired home his second.

The home side got a consolation goal in stoppage time with Craig Farrell beating the wall with a free kick, but it took no shine off City's impressive 5-1 victory - the first for 8 weeks.
