The Latics managed to rush the paperwork through to beat the 5pm deadline yesterday. He will have to wait until 2nd April to make his debut though as the deadline to play on Saturday was at 12 noon, and City have barred him from playing against them on Monday.

Oldham have taken over his contract until the end of the next season.

He has only been with City since the summer, when he moved via Huddserfield, Bolton and West Brom on a free transfer. He struggled for fitness early in the season, but scored on his first start when the Tigers won at Bristol City in October.

He then enjoyed a few months as Peter Taylor's first choice strike partner for Nick Barmby, before a goal drought that lasted 12 games. He ended it with a late equaliser at MK Dons in February, but that was his last appearance for City, as he rejoined hometown club Huddersfield Town on loan a few days later.

He impressed in his month there and manager Peter Jackson was keen to keep the 24-year-old, but relegation battling Oldham have beaten them to his signature.

Facey scored 6 goals in a total of 25 appearances in all competitions for Hull City.
