Tranmere have signed Delroy Facey until the end of the season from Oldham. The 25-year-old striker left City in April but has already fallen out of favour with the Latics. He's only started once this season and come off the bench four times.

Warren Joyce has also moved to Prenton Park, being appointed as the new Centre of Excellence Manager. Joyce made almost 150 league appearances for the Tigers, before becoming player-manager in November 1998. He was sacked in April 2000 and replaced by Brian Little - ironically now the manager at Tranmere. Joyce has also gained coaching experience at Bury, Manchester United and Leeds United.

Meanwhile, Junior Lewis is back in the Football League. The midfielder - who had dropped down to Edgware Town in the Ryman League Division Two after deciding to leave City - signed a short-term deal with Brentford on Thursday and played in both of their Bank Holiday weekend matches.

Another ex-Tiger, Lawrie Dudfield has also made a deadline day move. He's gone from Northampton to Boston ahead of the transfer window closing today.

City have made no eleventh hour signings themselves though. Loan deals may be possible after 7th September, but any permanent signings will now have to be in the January transfer window.
