Jon Otsemobor was shot in the buttocks at around 1:30am on Sunday morning in a Liverpool bar. Two others were also shot using a small calibre weapon. It is rumoured that the incident was in result of an argument earlier in the evening.

20-year-old Otsemobor played 9 times for City while on loan from Liverpool last season, scoring three times. The defender has yet to make his Premiership debut for the Reds, and is expected to be out of action for a month after the weekend's events.

Elsewhere, another former City player - Clint Marcelle - has signed for Scarborough. He made his debut in their 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury on Saturday, coming on as a substitute for fellow ex-Tiger Michael Price, and midfielder Scott Kerr also played.

The Trinidad & Tobego forward has had spells at Darlington, Harrogate, Hucknell, Stevenage and Ossett since leaving City in February 2001.
