The winger was dropped when Sammy McIlroy named his squad for the Armenia game last month, but his recent form has earned him a recall. He will be hoping to be the man to end his country's 12-match goal-less run. Compatriot and Tigers team-mate Alan Fettis is not included in the squad after six weeks out through injury.

The game - against Greece in Athens - is on Saturday 11th October, ruling him out of City's league game against Carlisle the following day.

After picking up his 5th yellow card of the season last night, the 25-year-old will also miss the LDV Trophy match at Darlington two days later due to suspension.

Meanwhile, Elliott has spoken of how he also missed the Swansea game last night, when he ended up scoring the winning goal.

He said: "To be honest with you, I haven't felt well for a couple of days. Yesterday afternoon, I really was struggling.
"I rang the physio at half-past-four to say I had the flu and at the moment I thought I'd have to pull out. However, I just kept praying that I'd be okay and fortunately things went my way. I was happy just to play but I think the fact I got the goal says everything about divine inspiration."
