The 21-year-old forward has had the remaining year on his contract paid off, and he will join Northampton Town on lower wages than he was enjoying at City. He's scored once in 9 loan appearances for the Cobblers.

It marks the end of a 2-year spell in Hull, after arriving from Leicester as the Tigers' record purchase for a fee of £250,000. He scored 13 goals last season, but has weighed in with only 2 this term after suffering with a lack of form and fitness. He started 46 games in the black and amber, and came off the bench 20 times.

He could be replaced by Sunderland's Michael Reddy. Peter Taylor has revealed his interest in the 23-year-old who scored 4 goals in 5 loan appearances for City last season.

Taylor said: "Reddy is definitely one of the players I am interested in. He's a good player. He's got pace, he scores goals and he's the right age.
"I've seen the reports about how much he might cost but half-a-million-pounds is too much. However, I don't think it will take that to get him. We'll have to wait and see."
