Darlo For Deano

The 40-year-old had attracted the interest of A-League sides and is also reported to have applied for the manager's job at former club Aberdeen, but instead will join Darlington in England's Football League Two.

Colin Todd has recently become the Quakers' new manager, and will re-unite with his friend and former captain Windass by bringing him to the club as his assistant. Darlington, whose goalkeeper is ex-Tiger Andy Oakes, are hoping to come out of administration in the coming weeks.

Like Windass, Michael Bridges is out of contract this summer and will leave the Tigers. He's been on loan at Carlisle all season and their manager, another ex-Tiger, Greg Abbott, wants to keep him permanently: "He is contracted with Hull City until the end of June and we have to wait for them to confirm their released list before we can even approach him, so it's another case of wait and see.
"We do know that there is possible interest from other clubs, but the situation has to be confirmed before we can even think about taking it any further."
