The draw took place this afternoon, with Plymouth's Home Park to be the venue for City's first FA Cup tie of the season, expected to be played on Saturday 5th January after the New Year's Day trip to Stoke and before the home match with West Brom the following Saturday.

City lost at home to Plymouth on the opening day of the present season, and go to Home Park for the return league clash on the 2nd of February.

City have fared well against the Pilgrims in previous FA Cup campaigns, always managing to progress. In both the 1975/76 and 85/86 Third Rounds, City drew at home to Plymouth before beating them in the replay at Home Park. The only other meeting in cup competition was again when entering at the Third Round stage of the FA Cup, City winning 4-3 at Plymouth in the 29/30 season.

Home Park has also been happy hunting ground for City in the league, with the Tigers winning 14 to Plymouth's 13, and 9 being draws. Last time out was a 1-0 win to the home side in December 2006, but City won the previous season courtesy of a Stuart Elliott goal.
