Cort Set For City

Cort is free to leave the Shrimpers as his contract is up, and City have lured him away from staying at the club he's been at for the last three years.

He told Southend's official website: "I've had a really good offer from Hull and it's more than likely that I'm going to be moving up there. I've spoken to Peter Taylor and he's made me a generous offer and you can't ignore things like that."

Meanwhile, Taylor says that City won't step up their chase for Peterborough's Curtis Woodhouse until later in the summer. Barry Fry yesterday said that the £100,000 offer made for his midfielder was an "insult", but admitted that the player would want to move to Hull.
