The 29-year-old will be out until next season due to a micro-fracture to his knee.

The centre back was rushed back into the team following a thigh injury sustained during pre-season, filling in when Damien Delaney broke his ankle 2 weeks into the season. Collins went on to make 8 appearances, the last of those 6 weeks ago, but has since been out with a knee injury, the extent of which is now known.

Phil Parkinson has Michael Turner, Danny Coles and Damien Delaney to rely on. Danny Mills is set to extend his loan by another month, but will then return to Manchester City.
