Coles has gone to Bristol Rovers on a three-month loan deal, and is expected to make the switch permanent in January.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "The opportunity of coming back to my home town and coming to play for people who really want me to play for them is what I'm excited about."

He added that things have gone "downhill" for him since Brown was appointed as manager due to a personality clash.

The former Bristol City player says it was Rovers he grew up supporting, and could make his debut against Bournemouth today.

Meanwhile, Brown says that he wants to see fit again Sam Collins get some first team action out on loan before deciding whether to include him in his plans or not.
