Ben Burgess - set City up for giant-killing feat
Despite just being a 'friendly' match, 17,216 turned up after hype from the local media to see Ben Burgess put City ahead early in the second half, heading Jason Price's cross past Nigel Martyn after 14 minutes.

A minute later Jason Wilcox was booked for a foul on Richard Hinds, and Leeds manager Peter Reid replaced the winger with James Milner.

England international Alan Smith then had a goal disallowed for offside, but City stayed ahead at half time.

Danny Allsopp was well denied by Leeds 'keeper Martyn after 62 minutes, but got his name on the scoresheet 12 minutes from time. Stuart Elliott played the Australian in, and after turning Michael Duberry he finished to make it 2-0 and secure the victory.

City line-up (4-4-2): Fettis; Thelwell, Hinds, Joseph, Delaney; Price (Regan 82), Green (Appleby 69), Ashbee (Keates 58), Elliott; Allsopp (Donaldson 80), Burgess (Webb 80).
