Damien Delaney deflected the ball into his own net in the 19th minute after Seol cut in.

Things went from bad to worse as both Keith Andrews and Steve McPhee had to be substituted due to first half injuries. City were already without Leon Cort who failed to make the squad due to injury.

It was one of the replacements, Stuart Elliott, who almost set City up with an equaliser before half time. After coming on for McPhee, he hit the ball across goal, but the linesman called offside as Nick Barmby knocked the ball in.

Wolves dominated for most of the first half, and with the side depleted with injuries it looked hard for City to get back into it.

Substitute Stuart Green blocked one on the line, as Wolves still looked the better team until the closing stages.

Elliott saw a late shot tipped over, but the home side deserved to win this one, with Jolean Lescott commanding at the back. They remain unbeaten, taking 7 points from their opening three games, while City are still without a win.

City line-up (4-4-2): Boaz Myhill; Scott Wiseman, Danny Coles, Damien Delaney, Roland Edge; Steve McPhee (Stuart Elliott, 38 mins), Keith Andrews (Stuart Green, 33 mins), Ian Ashbee, Kevin Ellison; Craig Fagan, Nick Barmby (Ryan France, 66 mins).
Un-used subs: Sergio Leite, Marc Joseph.
