Burnley lost 2-0 in the early kick-off at Preston.

The most relevant results were at the Walkers Stadium, where QPR's second half show resulted in a 3-0 win against hosts Leicester.

They move out of the relegation zone, with Southend dropping back into the bottom 3. The Shrimpers were close to climbing up the table until David Healy's equaliser two minutes from time left it Southend 1-1 Leeds.

City lost 2-0 to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. Jonny Evans put the Mackems ahead after only 3 minutes, and substitute Stern John added another in stoppage time at the end of the game.

Barnsley were thrashed 4-1 at in-form Coventry, with substitute Bobby Hassell scoring a late consolation goal for the Tykes. Coventry were three-up at the break.

Goals from Lee and Richards gave Ipswich a 2-0 win against Luton, who are now only above bottom-of-the-table Leeds by virtue of goal difference.

The table now sees 18th-placed Burnley, City and Barnsley all remain on 41 points. QPR are now 4th from bottom with 40 points, 1 ahead of Southend. Luton and Leeds prop up the division on 36.
