City Sign Defensive Cover

28-year-old Marques has joined on loan until the end of the season, as cover for City's only two fit centre backs, Damien Delaney and Leon Cort.

Terms of the deal state that the 5'11" Angolan international will not be allowed to play in the Hull City v Leeds United game on 1st April.

The former Benfica, Hertha Berlin, Stuttgart and Maritimo player joined the West Yorkshire club in the summer, but has only made one first team appearance, in the League Cup, to date.

Elsewhere, Alan Rogers and Stuart Elliott are suffering from illness and may be doubts for Saturday's game at Ipswich. That could hand Marques his debut, with Damien Delaney moving to left back to fill in for Rogers. Andy Dawson could also come into contention after making his comeback in the reserves, while Alton Thelwell is another option.

Midfielder Russell Fry's loan move to Torquay has fallen through.
