Players have generally been wearing 1-11 numbers for the pre-season friendlies to date without names on their shirts. However, players have had numbers on their training kits that correspond to those released today.

New signing Michael Turner has been given the number 6 shirt, with Jon Parkin vacating that for the number 11 shirt, worn by Curtis Woodhouse and then Mark Noble last season.

Danny Coles - who joined after the squad numbers were decided last year - has changed from 21 to 5, formerly of the departed Leon Cort. Sam Ricketts will make his debut in the 21 shirt.

Dean Marney, signed from Tottenham this summer, has been assigned the number 22 shirt.

Darryl Duffy has changed to 15.

Rookie goalkeeper Curtis Aspden has changed from 32 to 36.

All other players have retained the numbers worn last season. Mark Lynch has kept the number 2 shirt, despite his uncertain future. Michael Byron (35), Ben Wilkinson (37) and Tom Matthews (38) have been given squad numbers after promotion from the youth team.

30 players in all have squad numbers. The lowest unassigned numbers are 13, 18, 24 and 26. 31-34 are also vacant.
