33-year-old ex-Denmark international Pedersen has been allowed to terminate his contract due to family reasons. He joined City on a free transfer in August, signing a two-year deal. After recovering from an Achilles injury he made his debut in September, playing up front, and scored his first two goals for the club in the win against Ipswich. Soon after he was ruled out until the new year through injury again after damaging his knee. He returned in January, playing on the left flank. He made the last of his 22 appearances for the club in the penultimate league game of the 2007/08 season, but had to be substituted in the first half due to injury. Despite returning to fitness in time for the play-offs he didn't make Phil Brown's 16-man squad for any of the three games.

Meanwhile, George Boateng is the latest player ready to move to the club. Duffen told the Hull Daily Mail that "talks have been going on for a couple of weeks" and are now "at a very advanced stage." The 32-year-old Dutch midfielder has a year left on his contract, but Middlesbrough would be willing to sell for around £500,000. He originally joined them for 10 times that amount 6 years ago from Aston Villa after spells at Feyenoord and Coventry City.

Craig Fagan is the club's only signing so far, but Geovanni and Bernard Mendy are expected to complete deals in the coming days.
