City have signed the 20-year-old on a 2½-year deal. Derby receive a nominal transfer fee, which could rise depending on appearances for the Tigers.

Doyle has cut short his loan spell at Bradford to come to Hull. He's made 33 appearances for the Bantams since the beginning of the season. Previously for Derby he's played 10 times, and spent 12 games on loan at Notts County last year. He's yet to score his first goal in professional football.

Primarily a midfielder, either in the centre or on the right, he can also play at right-back, and is expected to squad player for the rest of the season operating in a variety of positions.

A previous England youth international, Derby-born Doyle is 5'11" tall, and Brown describes him as hard-working and a long-term investment for Hull City.

Meanwhile, Scott Wiseman has been recalled from his loan spell at Rotherham, and scored in today's 5-1 reserve match against the club he's just left.
