Blackpool will play host to City in the First Round of this year's League Cup at their Bloomfield Road ground. The game will take place on 23rd or 24th August, in between the home game to Brighton and the trip to Plymouth.

City did the double over Blackpool last season in League One, in which they ended the campaign in 16th place. The Seasiders fell at the first hurdle of the Carling Cup, losing 4-1 at Crewe.

Today's draw has put Hartlepool and Darlington together for a north-east derby. Grimsby go to Derby while Scunthorpe are at home to Tranmere. Sheffield United and Leeds United both have home games. Sheffield Wednesday go to Stockport.
