The 34-year-old was a free agent after leaving Qatar Sports Club and has signed a one-year contract with the Tigers.

Okocha has had spells with German clubs Borussia Neunkirchen and Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahçe where he gained Turkish citizenship, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bolton Wanderers before moving to the Qatari League a year ago.

Now retired from international football, Okocha made 74 appearances for Nigeria, scoring 15 goals and winning Gold at the 1996 Olympics. He has also been named runner-up on two occasions and third place once for the African Footballer of the Year award, confirming his reputation as one of the greatest African footballers of all time.

He played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Sheffield Wednesday today in Hull, and has until a week on Saturday to wait for the club's next competitive fixture when he will make his debut against Stoke at the KC Stadium. He's been assigned squad number 44.
