The City squad have been doing intensive fitness work and finally get back on the pitch with a friendly fixture at Unibond Division One (North) side Lincoln United.

Summer signings Stuart Elliott, Shaun Smith, Greg Strong, John Anderson and Ian Ashbee may all make their first appearances in the black and amber, though Richie Appleby and Stuart Green will have to wait a little longer to make their debuts as they are carrying injuries. Appleby has bad blisters while Green is carrying a thigh injury. Neil Mann also has a thigh injury and Gary Bradshaw has a hurt foot, but all four are hopeful of making an appearance at Bradford Park Avenue on Wednesday.

Manager Jan Molby will field a different eleven players in each half to give everybody a chance to get some football under their belts after the summer break.

He added: "We'll be looking to win every one of these games, and we'll be disappointed if we don't. But if something does go wrong, there'll be no need to press the panic button. These matches are a necessary part of pre-season work, just part of getting the players fit and ready for the first league match on August 10th.
"We've been working very hard for the past ten days now and I'm delighted with the response I've had from the lads."
