Bullard out for three weeks

Jimmy Bullard does not require surgery on his injured knee and could return to first-team action in three weeks, according to Hull manager Nigel Pearson. The midfielder, who has made only four appearances this season, has been dogged by various knee injuries in recent years, the latest of which has kept him sidelined since the goalless home draw with Coventry three games ago. Pearson told the club's official website: "Jimmy has suffered a meniscal injury to his left knee, which will keep him out for an estimated three weeks. "It is important to stress this is not the knee that he has had surgery on previously. "Scans have shown he may not need an operation and as such it is expected he will resume training shortly."
