Battered Reserves Win Again

Curtis Aspden, the youth team goalkeeper, was the first to be stretchered off just before half time. He suffered severe medial knee ligament damage in a challenge with Bradford's Craig Bentham. As Matt Duke is also out injured, City had no goalkeeper on the bench, so outfield player Nathan Hotte came off the bench to take over.

He managed to keep a clean sheet in the match which finished 1-0, courtesy of Paul Anderson's 90th minute winner. However, that goal also came at a price. As he converted Danny Allsopp's cross, the youngster collided with the post and broke his leg.

City line-up: Aspden (Hotte); Wiseman, Thelwell (Matthews), Hinds, Edge; Price (Anderson), Tomlinson, Fry, Benson; Allsopp, Wilbraham.
Un-used subs: Allinson, Briggs.
